Community Outreach

Walking Program

Mission Statement:
It is the mission of the Outreach program to provide an opportunity for individuals with physical and mental challenges to feel productive through work and social activities.

About the Program:
Program hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  The program site is located in Owen, WI at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center.  All participants have a program that is designed to meet their individual needs.  Staff are available to assist participants in learning work skills that will help them be productive and allow them the opportunity to earn money.  Participants can develop friendships with peers, learn new skills, exercise, take part in craft programs, and volunteer.  Individuals are also integrated into the community through leisure activities such as bowling, going out to eat, attending movies, and sharing in "coffee groups" and community events.

Get Involved:
Outreach participants live within the community and are in need of specialized programs to meet their individual needs.  Participants are referred to the program by parents, guardians, social workers, case managers, teachers, and through the Aging and Disability Resource Center.  For more information about the program, contact Janice Komanec by email or phone at (715) 229-2172.
