SHERIFF'S WELCOME

We are pleased to welcome you to our home page. The Clark County Sheriff's Department and Jail base operations out of Neillsville, Wisconsin, the county seat. The Sheriff's Department is comprised of communications/corrections, patrol, detective, reserve deputy, clerical staff and administrative divisions.

The communications/corrections division operates the central dispatch and E911 system for all the law enforcement agencies, fire and emergency medical services serving Clark County. This division also operates and maintains the county's 126 bed jail facility. A full time jail nurse is also on staff for the inmates.

The patrol division's primary function is traffic enforcement. The patrol deputies are also directed to perform "non-traffic" related type duties and assignments which occur on a daily basis. A patrol deputy from this division is assigned the duty of recreation officer. The recreation officer conducts ATV, boat and snowmobile law enforcement operations as well as enforcing county ordinance and state statute as it pertains to environmental issues.

The reserve division's primary function is to provide law enforcement in our parks during the busy season. The reserve division also assists the Sheriff's Department throughout the year when and where they are needed.

The administrative division's function is to oversee and maintain the day-to-day operations of the Sheriff's Department.
