Supported Employment has been an important element of ADS' programming since 1987.

Its basis lies in the concept that individuals with disabilities should have access to work opportunities in the community. With the appropriate match of ability to job duties, coupled with the necessary supports from job coaches, family, and co-workers, clients can successfully maintain employment in a variety of work situations.

Approximately 30 individuals currently are involved with Supported Employment.

The work sites include local manufacturing facilities, banks, grocery store, Health Care Center, Rest Areas, lawn care crews, and fast food outlets. The coaching support is provided by ADS job coaches on an as needed basis.
